With the mechanism assembly separated from the collar plate
inspect the HammerSchmidt visually and by feel for wear and
contamination. Look inside the sun gear for dirt and debris. It
may be appropriate to wipe this area with a clean, dry rag and
re-grease periodically.
Spin the ring gear counter-clockwise and feel for increased or
unusual drag or play in the assembly as this may indicate the
need for service.
