correct drive letters assigned.
At this point, both nodes should be running.
Configuring the Cluster Service
Take the following steps to configure the cluster service:
1. Add the servers to the domain. See
“Joining Both Servers to the Active Directory Domain”
on page 52
.
2. Install the Failover Clustering feature. See
“Installing the Failover Clustering Feature” on
page 53
.
3. Start the Create Cluster Wizard on the first node. See
“Creating the Cluster Service” on
page 55
. This procedure creates the cluster service for both nodes.
4. Rename the cluster networks. See
“Renaming the Cluster Networks in the Failover Cluster
Manager” on page 61
.
5. Rename and delete the cluster disks. See
“Renaming Cluster Disk 1 and Deleting the
Remaining Cluster Disks” on page 63
.
6. For a dual-connected configuration, add a second IP address. See
“Adding a Second IP
Address to the Cluster” on page 66

Creating the cluster service requires an account with particular administrative privileges.
For more information, see “Requirements for Domain User Accounts” on page 29.
Joining Both Servers to the Active Directory Domain
After configuring the network information, join the two servers to the Active Directory domain.
Each server requires a reboot to complete this process. At the login window, use the domain
administrator account (see
“Requirements for Domain User Accounts” on page 29).
