Revision 4 and Later Images
The latest images for the AS3000 Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard (starting with Rev. 4,
October 17, 2012) include system settings that required manual changes in previous versions of
the image. This appendix lists those settings for reference.
•
“Creating New GUIDs for the AS3000 Network Adapters” on page 116
• “Removing the Web Server IIS Role” on page 119
• “Removing the Failover Clustering Feature” on page 119
• “Disabling IPv6” on page 122
• “Switching the Server Role to Application Server” on page 123
• “Disabling the Windows Firewall” on page 125
You need to change these settings on each node of the cluster. Changes must be made through an
Administrator account.
Creating New GUIDs for the AS3000 Network
Adapters
c
This procedure is not needed with Rev. 4 and later server images.
Because all network adapters in a cluster need to have a globally unique identifier (GUID), you
must first delete the installed network adapters and then add them to create new GUIDs.
c
This procedure removes all settings for the network adapters, such as the IP address, name,
and bindings.
