3. If the current host of the cluster is not the active node, you need to stop the cluster service of
the non-active node, which moves it to the active node.
a. In the Server Manager tree, right-click the node that you want to go offline and select
More Actions > Stop Cluster Service.
b. After the Cluster Service has stopped, right-click the node for which you just stopped
the cluster service and select More Actions > Start Cluster Service.
4. Run the Interplay Engine installer to update the installation on the non-active node (second
node). Select Typical mode to reuse values set during the previous installation on that node.
Restart as requested and continue with Part 2 of the installation. The installer will ask you to
restart again after Part 2.

Do not move the Avid Workgroup Server to the second node yet.
5. Make sure that first node is active. Run the Interplay Engine installer to update the
installation on the first node. Select Typical mode so that all values are reused.
6. During the installation, the installer displays a dialog box that tells you that the engine will
be taken offline now in order to update cluster resources. Click OK and the installer will take
the Engine offline and will update the cluster resources.
7. The installer displays a dialog box that asks you to move the Avid Workgroup Server to the
second node. Move the application, then click OK in the installation dialog box to continue.
Restart as requested and continue with Part 2 of the installation. The installer will ask you to
restart again after Part 2.
8. After you move the application, bring the Interplay Engine online by right-clicking the Avid
Workgroup Server and selecting “Bring this server or application online.
9. You might want to test the final result of the update by moving the server back to the first
node. The Interplay Administrator can be used to display the version of the server.
After completing the above steps, your entire clustered installation is updated to the new version.
