Product Activation
Activation with a Hardware Key
Some Avid Editing Application can also be activated with a hardware key that is included in
the Installation package. The following sections describe using a dongle (for activating
Media Composer) and an iLok (for activation Pro Tools).
Activation with a Dongle
This section is applicable only to Media Composer.
To activate the product, do the following:
1. With Application Manager open, go to the Licensing tab. If Application Manager is not
open, click the icon in the tray.
2. Plug in the dongle blasted to the current product and version. Application Manager
detects the dongle with the corresponding dongle ID and Serial Number.
