14. AVG Admin Server 2012 for Linux
AVG Admin Server 2012 for Linux is designed for administration of AVG DataCenter using the HTTP
communication protocol for connection between the AVG stations and DataCenter. A Firebird server
is used for accessing the DataCenter database.
AVG Proxy server is also a part of the AVG Admin Server and serves for mirroring update files that
can be accessed via the HTTP protocol.

The AVG Proxy server feature is included in the AVG Admin Server 2012 for Linux. There are several
options available in the configuration file that can be used to customize settings. For more
information see the manual page of avgadmsrv.conf, check each option's description in the
configuration file or visit the Configuration chapter below.

14.1. Installation
This chapter describes AVG Admin Server 2012 for Linux installation.
The following libraries are required for successful installation:
libgds.so
libstdc++.so.6
libgcc_s.so.1
libc.so.6
libcurl3 libssh2-1 (for custom Graphic Reports feature)
AVG Admin Server 2012 for Linux is compatible with the following Firebird servers:
Firebird Super Server 2.5 (Recommended) or higher
Firebird Classic Server 2.5 or higher
