Note: Before each AVG program update launch, a system restore point is created. If the update
process fails and your operating system crashes you can always restore your operating system to its
original configuration from this point. This option is accessible via the Windows menu: Start / All
Programs / Accessories / System tools / System Restore. Recommended for experienced users
only!
13.3. Update levels
AVG Internet Security 2012 offers two update levels to select from:
Definitions update contains changes necessary for reliable anti-virus, anti-spam and anti-
malware protection. Typically, it does not include any changes to the code and updates
only the definition database. This update should be applied as soon as it is available.
Program update contains various program changes, fixes, and improvements.
When scheduling an update, it is possible to define specific parameters for both update levels:
Definitions update schedule
Program update schedule
Note: If a scheduled program update and scheduled scan coincides, the update process is of higher
priority and the scan will be interrupted.
