Preface
This wiki was the result of a collaboration of many individuals lending their experience and
expertise on the deployment of Lotus Notes and Domino. The information provided is targeted at
Version 8.5 of Notes and Domino and is supplementary to information already available regarding
the deployment of Version 8.
Please refer to the IBM Redbook IBM Lotus Notes and Domino 8 Deployment Guide
for
additional guidance.
Meet the Authors
Bart Jacob is a Senior Consulting IT Specialist at the IBM International
Technical Support Organization, Austin Center. He has over 25 years of
experience providing technical support across a variety of IBM products and
technologies, including communications, object oriented software
development, and systems management. He joined the ITSO in 1989,
where he has been writing IBM Redbooks publications and creating and
teaching workshops around the world on a variety of topics. He holds a
Masters degree in Numerical Analysis from Syracuse University.
Corey Davis is a Domino Administrator and Application Developer at CSC.
He has been working with Notes and Domino since R3 and began
programming at the age of 12. Corey has been involved in numerous large-
scale migrations and Domino upgrades, in addition to developing numerous
Domino applications and mail template enhancements for CSC customers.
He served on IBM Software Design Review for Notes 8 and 8.5, managed
CSC's Notes 8 Beta Team, and co-authored the IBM Lotus Notes and
Domino 8 Deployment Guide Redbook. He can be reached at

Marco Noel is a Senior IT Specialist at IBM. He started working with Notes
4.1 as a Messaging and Collaboration Administrator for the Government of
Quebec back in 1995. He joined IBM in August 2000 as a member of IBM
Software Services for Lotus (ISSL), doing many Notes/Domino upgrades,
deployments, and migrations, with specialized skills on AIX, Linux and
Windows platforms. He was also a member of the ISSL Competitive
Messaging group doing comparisons and proof-of-concepts between
Notes/Domino and competitors' messaging solutions. He then joined the
ISSL Support organization as a Senior Accelerated Value Leader (formerly
known as a Senior Premium Support Manager), supporting specific
Notes/Domino customers. He is an active member of the IBM Worldwide
Integrated Product Development / Enablement team and the IBM Lotus
Notes/Domino Design Partner Program. For more than 2 years, he has been
working with a fully functional Linux Desktop on a Thinkpad, with Notes 8.5
(with Symphony) and Sametime 8.0.2 Connect client.
