3.3.4 End of Day
When the printer finishes printing all the print jobs that have been sent, it will
stop with a few labels left to print. This allows you to send another next print job
and print it without wasting tape and ink. The Data light will flash to indicate
this condition.
When this occurs, you may send another print job. The printer will start up
automatically.
If you are finished for the day or you need to change tape or ink for the next
print job, press the Start Button. The printer will print the last few labels of the
last print job. You can then turn off the printer or change the tape and ink for the
next print job.
3.3.5 Clearing Print Jobs
If you have sent print jobs to the printer and do not want to print the labels, press
and hold both the Start/Stop and Voice buttons simultaneously. After about 2
seconds, the printer will say “Clearing Current Batch.” If there is only one print
job, the Data light will go out.
If there are more than one print job and you only want to clear the current one,
release the buttons.
If there are more than one print job and you want to clear them all, continue to
hold the buttons until the printer says, “Clearing All Batches.”
3.3.6 Using Pre-Printed Tape
When using pre-printed tape, the printer must detect a sense mark on the tape in
order to print in the proper place. There a three options for detecting the sense
mark:
• A top reflective sensor is standard on all AVERY DENNISON SNAP 500
printers. This sensor will detect a black sense mark on the top surface of
a white tape, and is mounted in the top right-hand post that holds the
web guide. It is fixed in the center of the tape and cannot be moved.
• A bottom reflective sensor is an option. It is the same as the top reflective
sensor, except it will detect a black sense mark printed on the bottom of
the tape. When installed, it is mounted in a post beneath the right-hand
post that holds the web guide. It is also fixed in the center of the tape
and cannot be moved.
• A contrast sensor is also an option. This sensor will detect a colored
sense mark on the top surface of a colored tape. When installed, it is
mounted on the top left-hand post that holds the web guide. It is
movable across the web, so that the sense mark does not have to be
