4.2.5 Automatic material
initialisation (INIT)
Also refer to chapter Activation and shut-down.
➔ In the standard menu, press the NEXT or PRIOR
key until INIT [48] is displayed on the operator pan-
el.
➔ Call the INIT function by pressing the ENTER key.
➔ Press and hold the FEED key.
– The message AUTO appears on the operator panel.
– The machine slowly starts up and dispenses a label.
➔ Release the FEED key once a label gap has passed
the photoelectric sensor [49A] at the dispenser
head.
If the initialisation was successful:
– "ON" appears on the operator panel.
– When the FEED key is pressed, a label is dis-
pensed.
If the initialisation was unsuccessful:
– The message FAIL appears on the operator panel.
➔ Initiate the INIT function again.
or:
➔ Manually initialise the material employing
qualified calibration technicians.
If the FEED key is not pressed down when INIT
is displayed on the operator panel, but only
lightly actuated:
– The values for the label distance setting and
the label stop sensor will be deleted provided
these values are stored in the control unit.
– Continual feed at maximum speed is trig-
gered.
– The continual feed only stops after a mal-
function occurs.
➔ To prevent operational malfunctions, switch
off the machine at the main switch as soon
as possible.
