Using UART Module (UART daughter board) with VSI-Pro

UART module is daughter board for special communication of the VSI-Pro. When the UART Module have been installed

into the J4 connector on the VSI-Pro Printed Circuit Board, the VSI-Pro can receive the special data format ; that is 7 data

bits and no parity.

UART Module

The VSI-Pro to automatically recognize the UART daughter board and enable the menu for Gilbarco Passport (XML

FMT). When the Gilbarco passport menu is selected, the VSI-Pro will check the UART Module. If VSI-Pro can commu-

nicate with the UART daughter board then the Gilbarco passport (XML FMT) sub menu will appear. If VSI-Pro cannot

communicate with the UART daughter board then this message will appear on the screen " UART DAUGHTER BOARD

NOT INSTALLED "

VSI-Pro VIDEO SERIAL INTERFACE

The VSI-Pro combine with the UART daughter board can interface a device have transmit the specific format data; that is

data bits is 7 bits and no parity. Access the Main Menu, select GENERIC or specific driver in the “REGISTER SELECT”

menu then exit to the Main Menu. Press the “Up” or “Down” buttons to move the cursor to “Communication” menu then

set a PARITY sub menu is NONE and set DATA BITS sub menu is 7. If VSI-Pro cannot communicate with the daughter

board, This message will appear on the screen." UART DAUGHTER BOARD NOT INSTALLED ".
