The following diagram is a basic connection layout of the Vnetworker and VSI-Pro when used with a PC controller vai
Hydra. All functions of the VSI-Pro locally operate normally and as a stand alone VSI-Pro. However the Vnetworker is
placed between the VSI-Pro and the register so it can disable the serial connection to the VSI-Pro when controlling it for
programming useage.
DVR with Networker and Vnetworker
The latest in the development of RS-485 networking is called the Vnetworker Protocol. This is an enhanced poll/select
protocol that allows the remote master to program and control the remote VSI-Pro with Vnetworker device. Not only will
this allow transaction logging but allow reading Alarm inputs, setting/reading/locking to T/D and full programming and
register configuration remotely. Implementation of this protocol brings seemless POS /Cash Register /ATM interfacing
to the AVE or 3rd party DVR suppliers. For more information on this contact the AVE factory.
Software Version List
Networker PC Ver. 2.3
Shows only the transaction information for up to 64 Networkers. This software works via a PC RS-232 port and the AVE
RS-232 to RS-485 Adapter. Note: Other vendor RS-232 to RS-485 adapters will work but they must support flow control
via CTS for bi-directional communication on RS-485 two wire configurations.
Vnetworker PC Ver. 2.3
Shows transaction information of both Networker and Vnetworker and via the Vnetworker allows programming of the
VSI-Pro for all functions.This software works via a PC RS-232 port and the AVE RS-232 to RS-485 Adapter. Note: Other
vendor RS-232 to RS-485 adapters will work but they must support flow control via CTS for bi-directional communication
on RS-485 two wire configurations.
Vnetworker USB Ver. 2.2
This software is identical in function to the Vnetworker PC but operates with the AVE USB232 adapter only.
PC Protocol Simulator Ver. 2.0
Allows a PC to simulate the VSI-ADD or VNET protocol to a master device like a Hydra or VSI-Pro Max via RS-232.
