VSI-Pro
Cash Register Interface
In any retail environment theft from the cash register is a potential risk and a drain on profits, whether it is a shop, bar,
restaurant or gas station. The VSI-Pro Cash Register to video interface is easily installed into any new or existing CCTV
system and will help detect cash register / EPOS system theft and fraud by displaying transaction text details and alarm
events on the CCTV picture.
The VSI-Pro can be covertly or overtly installed to allow the user to record such events as; “sweet hearting”, voids, no sale,
returns & refunds, short changing and substitute scanning.
Cutting Staff Theft at the Cash Register
The VSI-Pro connects directly to the CCTV system and cash register to provide first-class protection against staff theft at
the point of sale. The unit is highly popular with retailers, bars, convenience stores, and is proven to save hundreds and
even thousands of dollars in losses each week for users.
The unit enables the user to view and record simultaneously both cash register entry data and recorded CCTV events. The
data is recorded as a small on-screen display, superimposed over a corner of the event. This enables you to see exactly
what data was entered into the cash register such as the price, amount paid, change due, product description and the re-
corded video activity. You can then check the video recording at a later date to see whether the transaction was completed
correctly for example, if there is a stock or actual cash discrepancy.
User-defined exceptions and questionable or suspicious transactions can be flagged on the DVR or a PC hard disc where
images and data are recorded, and linked to the CCTV system. These exceptions might include refund, void, no sale or
sales over or under a set amount (such as under $10.00 or over $100.00 for example) events which might be a source of
concern. These exceptions can then be very quickly located on a recording for viewing days or even weeks later using the
search functions on the VCR or DVR.
The exceptions are entirely user-defined and accessed via the buttons on the VSI-Pro, and viewed on the monitor.
