Procedure
1. Turn the B5800 Branch Gateway system off. See
System shutdown on page 219.
2. Remove the card or external expansion module.
Note:
The card slot or expansion port used as the replacement must be installed in the
same position.
3. Install the replacement using the appropriate procedure for the type of component.
See Base and trunk card installation on page 53 or Connecting external expansion
modules on page 64 for more information.
4. Restart the B5800 Branch Gateway system.
Replacing a component with one of higher capacity
About this task
If you are replacing a component with one of the same type but with higher capacity, when
restarted the B5800 Branch Gateway system will automatically create configuration entries for
the new trunks or extensions/users.
Procedure
1. Turn the B5800 Branch Gateway system off. See
System shutdown on page 219.
2. Remove the card or external expansion module.
Note:
The card slot or expansion port used as the replacement must be installed in the
same position.
3. Install the replacement using the appropriate procedure for the type of component.
See Base and trunk card installation on page 53 or Connecting external expansion
modules on page 64 for more information.
4. Restart the B5800 Branch Gateway system.
5. Use Manager to configure the new trunks or extension/users.
