The following are the license types used by an B5800 Branch Gateway system:
· Avaya Branch Gateway System Software
This is the mandatory license for B5800 Branch Gateway operation. It must be present and it must match the
specific level of B5800 Branch Gateway software being used. This license does not enable any trunks or
extensions.
· Maximum Native Stations
This type of license is required for all configured users with analog, digital, H.323 or DECT extensions; for users
without any extension; and for all users with SIP extensions set as native (or local) (that is, extensions operating
in the Distributed branch user model).
· Maximum Survivable Stations
This type of license is required for all configured users with SIP extensions set as survivable (or centralized) (that
is, extensions operating in the Centralized branch user model, normally connecting to the Avaya Aura core and
connecting to the Avaya Branch Gateway in survivable mode during rainy day).
· Maximum Embedded Messaging Ports
This type of license is used to enable ports for Embedded Voicemail operation. The license sets the number of
ports supported for simultaneous voicemail calls. Embedded Voicemail supports up to a maximum of 6 ports.
Standalone Voice Mail supports up to a maximum of 20 ports.
· Maximum SIP Trunk Sessions
This type of license is used to set the maximum number of concurrent call sessions allowed on all SIP trunks, up to
a maximum of 128. It applies to both external SIP trunks and the active SM Line trunk to the Avaya Aura®
network. The Maxmium SIP Sessions value set in the configuration should match the licensed instances.
· Additional T1 Channels/Additional E1 Channels
Each IP500 PRI-U base card installed in the system supports 8 B-channels on each physical port without requiring
any license. Additional B-channels require the appropriate licenses to be added.
