5.23 PLDS License
B5800 Branch Gateway systems use the Avaya Product Licensing and Delivery System (PLDS) to manage license files.
A PLDS License option appears in the left navigation pane when Branch Gateway Manager has loaded the configuration
from an Avaya Branch Gateway. When you select PLDS License in the left navigation pane, the PLDS License screen
appears. This screen is read-only. Following is a description of the PLDS license screen:
· License Mode
Identifies the status of the license mode. The status can be one of the following:
· Normal Mode – No action is required.
· License Error Mode – Action is required to correct the License Mode. Refer to the License Status column and
the Error List section at the bottom of the screen to determine why the system is in License Error Mode. A
30-day grace period provides access to the capacities and features of the installed license when the system is
in License Error Mode.
· License Restricted Mode – When the system is in License Error Mode, if the problem is not resolved with
the 30-day grace period, the system will enter License Restricted Mode. When in this mode, configuration
changes are blocked, except for fixing the licensing errors.
· Grace Period Days
When the system is in License Error Mode, the number of days left in the grace period is provided.
· Version
Shows the version of Branch Gateway Manager currently running.
· PLDS Host ID
This is the ID code printed on the Branch Gateway SD card and is used to validate the license file.
· Feature
Identifies the Avaya Branch Gateway licenses installed on the system.
· Instance
Identifies the number of stations, ports, or sessions licensed for the corresponding feature. For the Avaya Branch
Gateway System Software feature, there is always 1 instance per system.
· License Status
Identifies the validation status of each feature.
· Expiry Date
Identifies the expiration date of the license for the corresponding feature.
· Error List
Identifies system errors.
· WebLM Configuration
Avaya Branch Gateway R6.2 supports WebLM licensing in which a single license file is generated in PLDS for multiple
branches. This license file contains the host ID of the WebLM server and is managed by the WebLM server. Two WebLM
configurations are supported:
· WebLM standard licensing model – a single WebLM server is used. This WebLM server can be the System
Manager WebLM server or a standalone WebLM server.
· WebLM enterprise licensing model – multiple WebLM servers are used. One WebLM server acts as a master
WebLM and hosts the license file from PLDS. The other WebLM servers act as the local WebLMs and host
allocation license files from the master WebLM server.
Avaya Branch Gateway R6.2 will continue to support the licensing model used in R6.1 where an individual PLDS
license was required for each branch, and there was no interaction with WebLM. In this model, the license file is an
.xml file that is imported from PLDS and resides on the System SD card that is installed in the system control unit. It
must match the PLDS Host ID of the Avaya Branch Gateway System SD card.
· Enable WebLM
Check this box if you are going to use WebLM to manage the Avaya Branch Gateway licenses.
· Domain name (URL): Default = FQDN or IP address of System Manager prefixed with “https” if the system is
under System Manager control. The interface will allow configuration of the FQDN or IP address prefixed with
http:// or https://.
This is the domain name of the WebLM server.
· URN: Default = WebLM/LicenseServer
This is the name of the WebLM server.
· Port number: Default = 52233
This is the port number of the WebLM server.
