Notices:
Hardware RS232 tunnelling means that the tunnelling between the 2 RS232
(local-remote) is performed even when the controlling PC with ESMonitor is
disconnected (i.e. It is the AVY16-ES100 hardware which manages the
tunnelling not the PC software).
AVB32-ES must have a firmware greater than or equal to 0x603. Upgrade it if
it is not the case (check for new firmware on AuviTran web site
www.auviTran.com).
AVKit-ES must have a firmware greater than or equal to 0x201. Upgrade it if it
is not the case (check for new firmware on AuviTran web site
www.auviTran.com).
WARNING: Communication issue was pointed out when using some RS232
cables between Yamaha consoles (DM2000, M7CL …) and AVY16-ES100 to
build HA remote control (tunneling Mode 3). Some cables seem to not be
properly wired, making communication errors.
If you noticed that:
- A cable that previously worked with AVY16-ES does not work with AVY16-ES100
anymore.
- HA remote works only in one way (digital console can send commands to remote
devices, but status is not properly displayed on the console).
- HA remote does not work at all, or wrong device is detected (e.g. AD824 instead of
AD8HR).
You may have an inappropriate RS232 cable between console and AVY16-ES100. You will
find below what cable to use, and what cable to NOT use.
These two examples are the most commonly found RS232 cables. If you don’t want to
buy a cable because you don’t know its wiring, or if you’re not sure of cables you already
own, you can also build your own cable with only 3 wires (using for example Microphone
cable or AES/EBU cables):
