5.6.6 Earth Fault Detection AutroFieldBus
The enabling of the Earth Fault detection mechanism has been
described earlier. It monitors the cable segment that is electrically
connected to the EAU-341 loop driver. However, if the cable is
interrupted electrically by a BSL-325 Booster or a Fibre modem, these
segments may need additional Earth Fault Monitoring. This may be
achieved by including a BSD-321 into this segment, and enable the
Earth Fault Monitoring at this device.
Care must be taken to avoid two units monitoring the same segment,
as they may interfere with each other on this feature.
