WARNING: Do not connect the batteries until
after Step 2.

Step 18.1 - Mount The Charger Board
Unplug the drive unit from mains power.
Disengage motor using manual release cord.
Remove the bottom cover by pressing in from sides
and sliding downward.
Remove the two screws and slide upward the top
cover to remove it.
Then remove the transformer, EMC board and mains
power cable.
Remove two screws from battery bracket then
remove the batteries and harness
Fix the Charger Board Holder on where the
transformer is removed from. Fix the charger on to
the charger holder (Fig. 64)
Feed the two wire cable through the opening, then
connect the red wire into solar + and black wire into
solar - connector on the control board.
Move the shunt from “STBY BATT” to “SOLAR”on
the control board in the power head.
WARNING: Do not connect battery or solar panel
polarity incorrectly - this will result in serious
damage to components. During Step 2 the opener
will become active.
Step 18.2 - Connect The Solar Panel
Mount the solar panel as described in the
SmartSolar™ Instruction Manual
Feed the Solar Panel’s cable through black grommet
on the chassis.
Connect the red wire to the Charger Board’s
SOLAR+” connector, and the black wire to the
–SOLAR” connector.
Step 18.3 - Mount & Connect The Battery
Mount the Battery Box close to the opener.
Feed the 2-core 18 awg gauge cable (supplied)
through the Battery Box’s grommet.
Connect the red wire to the Battery Box’s “+
terminal, and the black wire to the “” terminal
(Fig. 67).
Feed the other end of the battery cable through the
drive unit’s black grommet.
Connect the red wire to the Charger Board’s
BAT+” connector, and the black wire to the “
BAT” connector (Fig. 66).
Refi t the timing cover, main cover and light diffuser.
Step 18.4 - Re-Setup And Test The Opener
Setup travel limits and code transmitters as per the
GDO10-V1 instruction manual.
Press either the OPEN/CLOSE button, or use a
transmitter to operate the opener.
