Import is performed as a background process. A notification bubble is
displayed when the command is done.
■ Click the file name in the notification bubble. The imported file is
inserted in the current drawing.
TIP If you accidentally close the notification bubble, right-click the import
icon on the status bar, and click Insert. The imported file is inserted in the
current drawing.

Import CATIA Files
You can import CATIA

V5 models and insert them in the
current drawing.
CATIA (Computer Aided Three-dimensional Interactive Application) is a
multi-platform CAD/CAM/CAE commercial software suite. CATIA V4 runs on
UNIX variants, while CATIA V5 runs on Windows as well. The file formats
used by CATIA V4 and CATIA V5 are different. The IMPORT command supports
import from both CATIA V4 (all releases) and CATIA V5 (release 9 - 20) files
and inserts the model into the current drawing.
CATIA V4
The following CATIA V4 files are supported
■ *.model (model files)
■ *.session (session files)
■ *.exp and *.dlv (export files)
IMPORT maps all CATIA V4 assembly structures to blocks and block references.
