To link objects in a drawing
1 Start the server application and open a new or existing document.
2 Select the information you want to link and copy it to the Clipboard.
3 Open the AutoCAD drawing.
4 From the AutoCAD Edit menu, choose Paste Special.
5 In the Paste Special dialog box, choose Paste Link.
Paste Link pastes the contents of the Clipboard into the current drawing
and creates a link to the original file. If you choose Paste, the Clipboard
contents are embedded instead of linked.
6 In the As box, select the data format you want to use.
The Picture type uses Windows metafile format, which is primarily vector
graphics.
7 Choose OK.

To link an entire file in a drawing
1 Open the AutoCAD drawing.
2 From the AutoCAD Insert menu, choose OLE Object.
3 In the Insert Object dialog box, select Create from File.
The dialog box changes so that you can select an OLE server file.
4 Select Link and then choose Browse.
5 In the Browse dialog box, select the file you want to link and choose Open.
6 In the Insert Object dialog box, choose OK.
7 Choose OK.
The entire file is linked to the AutoCAD drawing.
