you attach baseplat.dwg as an xref to a new drawing, then the xref dimension
style is displayed in the Styles list of the Dimension Style Manager as
Xref:baseplat.dwg, and FRACTIONAL-1 appears under the drawing name.
Externally referenced dimension styles can be examined, but they cannot be
modified or made current. You can use an externally referenced dimension
style as a template for creating a new dimension style in your current
drawing.
To list all dimension settings for the current dimension style
1 From the Dimension menu, choose Style.
2 In the Dimension Style Manager, select the style from the Styles list and
choose Compare.
AutoCAD lists the dimensioning system variables, their current settings,
and a brief description. Overrides are included.

To list settings for an existing dimension style
1 From the Dimension menu, choose Style.
2 In the Dimension Style Manager, enter a dimension style name, or select
a dimension whose dimension style you want to examine and choose
Compare.
AutoCAD lists affected variables, their settings, and a brief description of
each. Overrides are not included.
