Associate Leaders with Objects
When the associative dimensioning is turned on (
DIMASSOC), the leader
arrowhead can be associated with a location on an object using an object
snap. If the object is relocated, the arrowhead remains attached to the object
and the leader line stretches, but the multiline text remains in place.
To create a leader with straight lines
1 From the Dimension menu, choose Leader.
2 Press
ENTER to display the Leader Settings dialog box and make the follow-
ing selections:
■ On the Leader Line & Arrow tab, select Straight. Under Number of
Points, select No Limit.
■ On the Annotation tab, select MText.
■ Choose OK.
3 Specify the First leader point and Next points of the leader line.
4 Press
ENTER to finish selecting leader points.
5 Specify the text width.
6 Enter the line of text. Press
ENTER to enter new lines of text as needed.
7 Press
ENTER twice to end the command.
After the
QLEADER command is completed, the text annotation becomes
a multiline text object.
