Hatches, Fills, and
Wipeouts
Many drafting applications use a process called
hatching to fill an area with a pattern. You can use a
predefined hatch pattern, define a simple line pattern
using the current linetype, or create more complex
hatch patterns. You can also use the hatching feature to
create solid fills.
You can also fill areas with a gradient fill to simulate the
reflection of light on an object in your drawing.
In some drawings, you might want to use a wipeout
object to cover existing objects with a blank area to
make room for notes or to mask details.
