In the following example, you specify the reference angle by selecting two
points on the object to rotate. You select the object to be rotated (1), specify
the base point (2) by using the Midpoint object snap on the window shown,
and then use the Reference option to specify the angle of rotation. For the
reference angle, specify two points: the midpoint of the window (2) and the
endpoint of the window (3). Rotate the window by dragging it and specify
the endpoint of the wall (4).
Rotate an Object in 3D
With ROTATE, you can rotate objects in 2D about a specified point. The
direction of rotation is determined by the current UCS. ROTATE3D rotates
objects in 3D about a specified axis. You can specify the axis of rotation using
two points; an object; the X, Y, or Z axis; or the Z direction of the current
view. To rotate 3D objects, you can use either ROTATE or ROTATE3D.
To rotate an object
1 From the Modify menu, choose Rotate.
2 Select the object to rotate.
3 Specify the base point for the rotation.
4 Do one of the following:
Enter the angle of rotation.
Drag the object around its base point and specify a point location to
which you want to rotate the object.
