To define drawing properties
1 From the File menu, choose Drawing Properties.
2 In the Drawing Properties dialog box, enter property information on the
following tabs:
■ Summary tab. Enter the drawing title, subject, author, keywords, com-
ments, and a default address for hyperlinked data in your drawing. Key-
words help you search for drawings sharing a common property. For
example, you can add the keyword "Autodesk" to certain drawing files
and then use DesignCenter to search for all drawing files with that key-
word. For a hyperlink base you can specify an Internet address or a path
to a folder on a network drive.
■ Custom tab. You can enter up to ten custom properties. Specify the
names of the custom fields in the column on the left and the value for
each custom field in the column on the right. This information can be
used for advanced search in DesignCenter.
3 Choose OK to exit the dialog boxes.

Recover a Damaged File
Computer hardware problems, power surges, user mistakes, or software
problems can cause errors that prevent you from editing or plotting the
drawing. By saving your work frequently, you can ensure a minimum of lost
data if your system fails.
If AutoCAD encounters a problem and closes unexpectedly, you can send an
error report to help Autodesk diagnose problems with the software. The error
report includes information about the state of your system at the time the
error occurred, and you can add other information, such as what you were
doing at the time of the error. The
REPORTERROR system variable controls
whether the error reporting feature is available.
