2 In the Save Drawing As dialog box under File Name, enter the new
drawing name; the file extension is not required. Then click Save.

To save a drawing automatically
1 On the Tools menu, click Options.
2 In the Options dialog box, on the Open and Save tab, select Automatic
Save and enter a number in Minutes Between Saves.
3 Click OK.
To save a backup of the previous version every time the drawing is saved
1 On the Tools menu, click Options.
2 In the Options dialog box, on the Open and Save tab, select Create Backup
Copy with Each Save.
3 Click OK.
To save selected objects into a new drawing file
1 At the Command prompt, enter wblock.
2 In the Write Block dialog box, under Objects, select Objects.
3 Under Base Point, click the Pick Point button and specify the base point
in the drawing area, or enter coordinate values in the X, Y, and Z boxes.
4 Under Objects, click the Select Objects button and select the objects in the
drawing area.
5 Under Objects, select an option to indicate whether you want to retain,
convert, or delete the selected objects.
6 In the File Name box, enter the name for the new drawing file.
7 In the Location box, specify the folder for the new drawing file.
8 In the Insert Units box, you can select a different base unit. This option
provides a method to scale objects automatically in the new drawing file.
9 Click OK.
The objects you selected in the drawing are saved in a new drawing file.
