Move the catalog database file
In Project Manager, right-click the project name and select Settings to find
the location of the default_cat.mdb file. If you want to move this file to another
directory, such as a shared network drive, then edit a small text file to tell
AutoCAD Electrical where to look.
1 Move the file to your new drive:directory.
2 Exit AutoCAD. Edit the .env file with a text editor like WordPad or
Notepad. Use the Settings option on the Project Manager to find the full
path.
3 Find the WD_CAT entry. Change the line to point to the new location
for the catalog file. For example, you move them to n:/electric/catalogs/
on your network drive. Change this line to:
WD_CAT,n:/electric/catalogs/,AutoCAD Electrical catalog file.
4 Save and exit the file.
NOTE AutoCAD Electrical looks for a project-specific MDB file first, called
<project>_cat.mdb, in the subdirectory of the project.
