If you have already added one or both default
lights, a warning prompts you to rename or delete
the previous default light object before you add
another.
Procedure
To add t he defa ult l ights a s objects:
1.
Right-click a view port label, and click
Configure.
2. On the V iewport Configuration dialog >
Rendering Method tab, in the Rendering
Options group, turn on Default Lig hting and
choose 2 Lights. Click OK to close the dialog.
3. Choose Views menu > Add Default Lights To
Scene.
4. On the Add Default L i ghts To Scene dialog,
choose Key Light, Fill Light, or b oth.
5. Activate the Top viewport, and on the
status bar, click Zoom Ex tents.
The lights are now visible in the viewport.
Inter face
Add Default K ey Light—When on, adds the default
key light to the scene. The key light is in f ront of
the scene and to the left. The key light becomes
an
omni lig ht (page 2–1148)
w ith the name,
DefaultKeyLight. Default=on.
Add Default Fill Light—When on, adds the default
fill light to t he scene. The fil l li ght is behind the
sceneandtotheright. Thefilllightbecomes
an
omni lig ht (page 2–1148)
w ith the name,
DefaultFillLight. Default=on.
Distance Scaling—Affects how far the li ghts are
placed f rom the origin (0,0,0). The default v alue
leaves the scene’s lighting unchanged. Larger
values move the li ghts further away, dimm ing
the scene, and smaller values move them closer,
brightening the scene. Default=1.0. Range=0.0
to 1000.0.
Redraw All V iews
Views menu > Redraw All Views
Keyboard > ‘ (accent grave)
Redraw All Views refreshes the display in all
view por ts. When you move, rotate, scale, or
otherwisemanipulategeometry,theviewports
may display the scene with some irregularities,
or with objects or parts of objects missing. Use
Redraw All V iews to redisplay your scene with all
lines and shading restored.
Activate A ll M aps
Views menu > Activate All Maps
Activate All Maps turns on the Show Map In
View port flag for all materials assig ned to the
scene.
To undo t his action, use Views menu > De activate
All Maps. This will turn off the maps for all
materials. If you only want to turn off individual
maps, you need to turn off Show Map In Viewport
in the Material Editor.
