Possible uses for this sett ing include animating the
hair falling onto or moving away from the growth
object.
InterpolateWhen on, hair growt h is interpolated
among the guide hairs, and the surfa ce is fully
populated with hair according to the General
Parameters settings. When off, Hair generates
only one hair per triangular face in the growth
object, up to t he limit i mposed by the Hair Count
setting. Default=on.
Material Parameters rollout
All of these p arameters apply to
buffer-rendered
hair
generated by Hair. In the c ase of
geometry-rendered hair
, the hair coloring is
derived from the growth object. In the case of MR
prim-rendered hair, all parameters apply except
Self Shadow and Geom Shadow. With instanced
hair, Hair uses the material from the instanced
object.
Youcanapplyamaptoanyvaluebyclickingthe
blank button to the right of the parameter. This
acts as a multiplier to the base value.
Tip: If you apply a colored texture map to a color
attribute such as Tip Color, start by setting the
base color to white. Because the map acts as a
multiplier, not doing so can lead to unexpected
results.Forexample,ifTipColorissettoyellow,
and you apply a blue texture map, the hair w ill be
black, because if you multiply those RGB values
they zero each other out.
