Spring Dynamics Object 379
Wire Shape group
Provides three different types of wire cross-sections
for the spring: round, rectangular, or D -shaped.
Each ty pe has its own set of parameters.
Round Wire—Specifies a round wire for the spring.
Diameter—The diameter of the wire.
Sides—The number of sides that ma ke up the
cross se ction.
Rectangular Wire—Specifies a rectangular wire.
Width—Determines the width of the cross
section.
Depth—Determines the depth of the cross
section.
Fillet—When combined with Fillet Segs
(below), this lets you fillet (round) the cor ners
of the cross sec tion.
Fillet Segs—Specifies the number of segments
in the fi llet.
Rotation—Rotates the angle of the cross sec tion
along the entire length of the spring.
D-Section Wire—Specifies a D-shaped wire.
WidthDetermines the width of the cross
section.
Depth—Determines the depth of the c ross
section.
Round Sides—Specifies the number of segments
that make up the rounded side of the D-shape.
Fillet—When combined w ith Fillet Segs
(below), this lets you f illet (round) the corners
of the cross sec tion.
Fillet Segs—Specifies the number of segments
in the fi llet.
Rotation—Rotates the angle of the cross sec tion
along the entire length of the spring.
Dynamics Parameters group
These par ameters specify the forces that the spring
contributes to a dynamic simulation.
Relaxed Hgt—Specifies the height (or length)
at which the spring is "relaxed" and therefore
