IDs and Use Shape IDs when lofti ng, lathing or
extruding.
Set ID—Lets you assign a particular material
ID number to selected segments for use w ith
multi/sub-object materials and other applications.
Usethespinnerorenterthenumberfromthe
keyboard. The total number of available IDs is
65,535.
Select ID—Selects the segments or splines
corresponding to the Ma terial ID specified in
theadjacentIDfield. Typeorusethespinnerto
specify an ID, then click the Select ID button.
Select B y Name—This drop-dow n list shows
the names of sub-materials if an object has a
M ulti/Sub-object material assigned to it. Click
the drop arrow and select a material from the list.
The segments or splines that are assigned that
material are selected. If a shape does not have a
M ulti/Sub-Object material assigned to it, the name
list wil l be unavailable. Likewise, if multiple shapes
areselectedthathaveanEditSplinemodifier
appliedtothem,thenamelistisinactive.
Clear Sel ection—When tur ned on, selecting a new
ID or material name forces a deselection of any
previously selected segments or splines. When
turned off, selections are cumulat ive so new ID
or material name selections add to a previous
selection set of segments or splines. Default=on.

Select an editable spline > Modify panel > Expand the
editable spline in the stack display > Spli ne sub-object
level

While at the Editable Spline (Spline) level, you can
select single and multiple splines within a sing le
spline object and move, rotate, a nd scale them
using st a ndard methods.
Procedure
To change spline properties:
• You change the properties of a spline from Line
to Curve by right-clicking and choosing Line or
Curve from the Tools 1 (upper-left) quadrant
of the quad menu.
Changingthesplinepropertyalsochangesthe
property of all vertices in the spline:
• Choosing Line converts vertices to Corners.
• Choosing Curve converts vertices to Beziers.
