Sets up the required
coordinates for applying mapped materials to the
object. Default=on.
Real-World Ma p Size—Controls the scaling
method used for texture mapped materials that
are applied to the object. The scaling values are
cont rolled by the Use Real-World Scale settings
found in the applied material’s
Coordinates rollout
(page 2–1434)
. Default=off.

Example of ringwave
Use the RingWave object to create a r ing,
optionally w ith irregular inner and outer edges
whose shapes can b e animated. You can also
animatethegrowthoftheringwaveobject,and
you can use keyframing to animate all numeric
settings. Use RingWave for various t ypes of
special-effects animation, for example, to depict
the shock wave em anating from the explosion of a
star or planet.
Procedure
To create a basic animated r ingwave:
1.
On the menu bar choose Create > Extended
Primitives > Ringwave.
2. Drag in a viewport to set the outer radius of the
ringwave.
3. Release the m ouse button, and then move the
mousebacktowardthecenteroftheringtoset
the i nner radius.
4. Click to create the ringwave object.
5. Dragthetimeslidertoseethebasicanimation.
This is determined by the Inner Edge Breakup
group > Crawl Time sett ings.
6. To animate the ring’s growth, cho ose RingWave
Timing group > Grow And Stay or Cyclic
Growth.
