any other parameters, those parameters are still
con trolled by the wiring setup after exploding

Detach Assembl y

> Select one or more object s to detach. > Assembly >
Detach
Select one or more objects to detach in an open assembly.

The Detach command detaches the selected object
fromitsassembly.Iftheobjectisamemberofa
nested assembly, after you detach it, it is no longer
a m emb e r of any assembly.
This command becomes active when you open the
assembly by choosing
Open (page 1–106)
from
the Assembly menu.
Attach Assembly
Select one or more objec ts. > Group menu > Assembly
> Attach
The Attach command makes the selected object
part of an existing assembly.
With an object selected, choose this command,
and then click either a closed assembly in the
scene, or the head object of an open assembly.
Procedure
To attach an object to an assembly:
1.
Selectoneormoreobjectstoattach.
2. Choose Group menu > Assembly > Attach.
3. Click any member of an assembly.
The selected objects b ecome part of the
assembly, which is now selected.

Assembly Head Helper Object
When you create an
assembly (page 1–97)
in
3ds Max, the program automatically adds a special
type of helper object cal led a head object, or
assembly head. This object serves as t he f u lcr um
of the assembly and also exposes parameters,
availableintheModifypanelwhentheassembly
is selec ted, that you can
w ire (page 2–393)
to
properties of objects inside the assembly. Thus,
you can change and animate parameters of
assembly member objects without having to open
the assembly, as you would with a group.

The Luminaire helper object ser ves primarily as a
head, or control, object for light fixtures. When
you
assemble (page 1–104)
asetofobjectsinto
alightfixture,youspecifythatanewluminaire
object should be used as the assembly head object.

Modify panel, let you control the light sources in
