Some act ions cannot be undone: for example,

previous version. When you know something
cannot b e undone, use
Hold (page 1–94)
first.

Pr ocedur es
To undo t he mos t r ecent a ction:
Click Undo, choose Edit menu > Undo,
or press CTR L+Z .
To undo several acti
ons:
1.
Right-click Undo.
2. From the list, select the level where you want
to return. You must choose a continuous
selection; you can’t skip over items in the list.
3. Click the Undo button.
To exit the list without performing an action,
click the Cancel button, or click somewhere
outside of the list.

On the Edit menu, the name of the func tion to be
redone is displayed.
Right-clicking the Redo button displays a list of
thelastactionswhereyoucanchoosethelevelof
Redo. You must select a continuous selection; you

Edit me n u > Hold
Use Hold before performing any operation that
is new or unfamiliar to you. You should also use
Save or Save As before performing an operation
that can not be undone, for example, applying t h e
Collapse utility or Reset Transform ut i lity.
The
Fetch command (page 1–95)
restores the
contents of the Hold buffer containing the saved
scene and its settings. If you experience an
unexpected end of operation or crash after you
perform Hold, you can retrieve your scene from
thebufferwiththeFetchcommandafteryou
restart 3ds Max.
