The Named Selec tion S ets dialog, available from
the Edit menu, is a
modeless dialog (page 3–1067)
that lets you create named selection sets or select
objects to add to (or remove from) a select ion set,
directly from the viewport. The dialog also lets
you organize your current named selection sets,
browse their members, delete or create new sets, or
identify which named selection sets a particular
object belongs to.

objects
only. For

Pr ocedur es
To create a na med s election:
1.
In the viewport, select the objects you want to
gather as a selection set.
2. Click the toolbar Named Selection Sets
button or choose Edit > Edit Named Selections.
3. On the Named Selection Sets dialog, click
Create New Set.
4. Enteranameforthenewselectionset.
To add objects to a named selection set:
1.
Click the toolbar Named S
election Sets
button or choose Edit > Edit Named Selections.
2. Choose the n amed selection set in t he dialog .
3. Selectoneormoreobjectsintheviewport.
4. In the dialog , click Add S elected Objects.
To r emove obj ects f r om a named s election set :
1.
Click the toolbar Named Selection Sets
button or choose Edit > Edit Named Selections.
2. Choose the n amed selection set in t he dialog .
3. In the view por t, select the objects you want to
remove.
4. In the dialog, click Subtract Selected
Objects.
Note: You can also remove objects by
selecting them in the Named Select ion Sets di alog,
then clicking Remove or pressing DELETE.
To move a n object f rom one set t o a nother :
1.
Click the toolbar Named Selection Sets
button or choose E
dit > E dit Named Selections.
2. In the Named Selec
tion Sets dialog, expand the
selection sets.
3. Drag an object from one set to another .
The object is moved into the second set. If you
use CTRL+drag, the object will be
copied
into
the second set.
Tip: You can also
copy the contents of an entire
set into another, by drag ging them into the
desired selection set.
