Whenever you want to access the selection,
choose its name from the Named Selection Sets
list.
To select a named selection set, do one of the
following:
• To select a single item, click it in the list.
• To select more than one item in the list, select
one, and then selec t others while holding down
the CTRL key.
• To deselect single items after you’ve selected
multiple items, hold down the ALT key.
Select All
Edit menu > Select All
Keyboard > CTRL + A
This command selects all objects in the scene
matching the current
selection filter type (page
1–83)
on the main toolbar.
Select None
Edit menu > Select None
Keyboard > CTRL + D
This command deselects all objects in the scene
conforming to the current
selection filter type
(page 1–83)
on the m ain toolbar.
Select Inver t
Edit menu > Select Invert
Keyboard > CTRL + I
This command inverts the cu rrent selection set.
All objects not currently selected are selected,
and al l objects currently selected are deselected,
respecting the current
selection fi lter t ype ( page
1–83)
on the main toolbar.
Select By
Edit menu > Select By
The Select By command provides options for
selecting objects in the scene by color or by name.
The Select By command also gives quick access to

Edit menu > Select By > Color
Select By Color lets you select all objects having
the same color as the s elec ted object. Selection
is made by wireframe color (see
Object Color
Dialog (page 1–155)
), rather than by any materials
associated with the objects.
After you choose this command, click any object
inthescenetodeterminethecolorfortheselection
set.
