Youcanchangetheactivetimesegment
w ithout affecting the keys you’ve created.
For example, if you have keys scattered over
a range of 1000 frames, you can narrow
your active time segment to work on only
frames 150 to 300. You can only work on
the150framesintheactivesegment,but
the remainder of t he animation stays intact.
Returning the ac tive segment from 0 to 1000
restores access and playback of a ll the keys.
Changingtheactivetimesegmenthasthe
follow ing effects: it restricts the range of
time you can use w ith the time slider, and it
restrictstherangeoftimedisplayedwhen
using t he animation playback buttons.
The default setting for the active time
segment runs from f rames 0 to 100, but you
can set it to any range.
To stretch out your existing animation over a longer
time:
1.
In the Time Configuration dialog > Animation
group, click Re-scale Time.
2. Change the value in Length to be the number of
frames you want the action to fill.
3. Click OK.
The animation is rescaled to the new number
of frames.
This also works to compress animations into a
shorter space of time. To avoid losing frames
during the rescaling, see “To use sub-frame
animation in this set of procedures.
To a dd f ra mes onto your exi sti ng anima tion:
This procedure adds new f r ames to the end of your
animation, without affecting your existing work.
1. In the Time Configuration dialog > Animation
group>EndTimefield,enterthenumberof
the last frame of the animation.
Forexample,ifyourexistinganimationis100
frames long and you want to add 50 frames,
enter 150.
2. Click OK.
Thenumberyouenteredisnowthenewlength
of the animation, shown on the time slider.
To move to an exact time in your animation:
In the Time Configuration dialog > Animation
group,entertheframenumberintheCurrent
Time field, and press ENTER.
The viewport updates to this frame.
To set the frame rate of your animation:
IntheTimeConfigurationdialog>FrameRate
group, do one of the following:
Choose one of the standard frame rates such
as PAL or NTSC.
Choose Custom, and specify a f rame rate in the
FPS (frames-per-second) field.
To configure viewport playback:
IntheTimeConfiguration>Playbackgroup,
turn on or off the Real Time and Active
Viewport Only boxes.
To play your animation in reverse or back a nd forth:
1.
In the T ime Configuration > Playback group,
turn off the Real Time.
2. Choose the direction of the animation playback
by selecting For ward, Reverse, or Ping-Pong.
3. Play the animation in the viewpor t using the
Play button or the / key .
To play your animation only once:
1.
In the T ime Configuration > Playback group,
turn off Loop.
2. Choose the direction of the animation playback
by selecting Forward, Reverse or Ping-Pong.
