Animation Quad Menu
ALT+right-click a viewport. > Anim ation quad menu
The ALT+r ig ht-click quad menu has commands
to assist in anim ation.

Set quadrant
Keyframe—Sets a key at the current f rame. Set Key
or A uto Key do not need to be on.
Show Tra jector ies To ggle—Toggles the display of

Reaction Manager—Opens the
Reaction Manager
dialog (page 2–345)

Delete S elected Animation—Deletes any existing
animation keys for all selected objects, as well as
any sub-object animation. E ach object remains
in its state at the frame in which you use this
command.
Pose quadrant
Set Pref Angles—For a hierarchy with
history-independent (HI) IK applied to it, sets the
preferred angle for each bone in the chain.
Assu me Pref Angles For a hierarchy with
history-independent (HI) IK applied to it, copies
theX,Y,andZpreferredanglechannelsof
each bone and places them into its FK rotation
subcontroller.
Set as Sk in PoseStores the selected objects
current position, rotation, and scale as the skin
pose. See

Assume Skin Pose—Causes the selected objects
to take on the stored skin pose. See

Transform quadrant
Commands in this quadrant are meant primari ly
as aids to character animation. Use the Freeze
commands to set the character’s initia l pose. Then
you can later use the “to Zero options to return
to that initial pose.
Freeze Tra nsfor m—Sets the object’s transform
values to zero w ithout actually moving the object.
Freeze R ota tion—Sets the object’s rotation value to
zero without actual ly moving the object.
Transf orm to Zero—Transforms the object back to
the z ero p ose established by Freeze Transform.
Transform To Zero works only if you have
previously invoked Freeze Tr ansform or Freeze
Rotation.
Note: There is also a Position To Zero command,
which returns the object to the zero position only
(no rotation). You can use Posit ion To Z ero by
creating a keyboard shortcut for it. See

Rotation to Zero—Tr ansforms the object back to
the zero rotation established by Freeze Rotation.
