Schematic V iew Display Floater
The Display Floater controls by category what is
displayed in the Schematic View window. The
Schematic View Preferences dialog also filters that
displayofthewindow. Usethesetomanagethe
clutter of the window, and the performance speed.
Note that unless you display the correct entity
and relationship, you wi ll not be able to perform
certain operations. If you want to wire p arameters,
for instance, you must have Param Wires turned
on. If you want to wire the parameters of a
material, you must also have Materials chosen.
Inter face
Relationships group
Lets you choose which of the followi ng
relationships you want to display or create:
Constraints, Controllers, Parameter wir ing, Light
inclusion and Modifiers.
Entities group
Selects which types of entities are displayed or
edited:
Base ObjectsWhen act ive, all base object entities
w i ll display as children of the no de entities. When
Sync Selection is on and the Modifier stack is
open, clicking on a base object will activate that
level of the object’s stack.
Modifier Stack When active, all modifiers in the
object’s stack wi l l display as children, beginning
with the Modified Object base entity. Modifiers
can be copied, instanced or moved be tween
objects by using the Connect tool. For example,

Attach Modifier dialog where you can choose
between Copy, Move or Instance. Deleting the
modifier from the Schematic View will also remove
it from the object’s stack in the Modify panel.
Materials—When act ive, all m aterials and maps
assigned to the objects will display a s children of
the objects. Materials can be instanced between
objects by using the Connect tool on the Schematic
View toolbar. For example, drag material

. Double clicking on a material will bring
up the Material editor if the Material is already in
an sample material slot.
Controllers—When this is active, all controllers
other than position, rotation and sca le will display
as children of the objects transform controller,
which also displays. Controllers can be added to
objectsonlywhenthisisactive.Controllerscanbe
copied or instanced between objects by using the
Connect tool. For example dragg ing

PRS—Lets you choose to display any combination
of the three transform types (position, rotation
or scale).
Expand—When turned on, entities that are
activated will be displayed in Schematic View.
When turned off, only the triang le child indicator
on the bottom of the nodes w ill display. This toggle
