Standard Lights group
Max imum Light Intensity S ca le—Selects the scale
intensity method for conver ting standard lights.
You can enter the intensity scale in candelas in
the field to the right. (Photometric lig hts are not
scaled.)
Light Intensity at Distance—Selects the m atch
intensity method for conver ting standard lights.
You can enter the distance used for matching
intensity in the field to the right. The units are
always in those selected by Master Units.
Average Target Dista nce—Selects the match
intensity method for conver ting standard lights.
The distance used is the average distances between
targeted spotlights and their targets, which is
displayedintheeditfieldtotheright.Thisbutton
is disabled if there are no targeted spotlights in the
scene.
Use Attenuation—Selects the Use Attenuation
method for converting lights w ith range
attenuation.
Pr es erv e S po tl i gh t A n gl es—Selects how spotlight
angles are converted from 3ds Max to Lightscape.
When this option is off, the Lightscape beam angle
is set to the angle where the 3ds Max intensity is
one-half of the spotlight intensity, which matches
the Lightscape intensity at the beam angle. When
this option is on, the Li ghtscape beam angle i s
set to the hotspot angle. The 3ds Max intensity
at the hotspot angle is the full spotlight intensity,
which is significantly different from the Lightscape
intensity at the beam angle. You should only
turn this option on if you want to enter a specific
Lightscape beam angle for your spotlights in
3ds Max.
Lightscape Lights group
Rel ati ve P hotometr ic Web Paths—Use this option if
your scene contains photometric lights with web
distributions. When this option is on, exported
luminaire definitions contain only the relative path
oftheIESfileandtheabsolutepathisaddedtothe
Lightscape document path list. When t his option
isoff,theabsolutepathoftheIESfileappearsin
the luminaire definition.
Luminaire Processing group
Average Map Color for Projectors—Use this option
to average the texture map colors and include
them in the filter color of the exported light. This
is available only for bitmap textures.
UseCurrentLightObjectSettingsUse this option
to base the luminaire processing settings on the
settings of the 3ds Max light objects. You might
want to use this option if you plan on importing
your resulting Lightscape s olution back into
