When a character’s limbs are not sy m metrical,
you can also use these controls to keep rotations
proportional. First, highlight the current child (for
example, a foot or toe) in the Retargetable Nodes
list.TurnonEnabled,andthenusethedrop-down
list to choose the upper parent (for example, the
thigh) of the limb you are retargeting. Finally, click
Set.
Enabled—Turn on to enable retargeting extents.
Default=off.
Par ent No de—Choose the current upper parent of
the limb you are retargeting. This drop-down list
is restricted to parents of the currently highlighted
current object.
Get—Click to set controls in the Scale, Derive
Scale Between Chains, and FK Retargeting
Extentsgroupsbasedonthecurrentlyhighlighted
mapping in the list.
If multiple mappings are selected, Get fetches the
first hig h lig hted mapping in the list.
SetClicktoapplythecurrentScaleFactortothe
mappings that are currently highlighted in the list.
Cle arClick to clear retargeting values from the
mappings that are currently highlighted in the list.

File menu > Import
Import loads or merges geometry files that are not
3ds Max scene files. See the following procedure
for a complete list of file types you can import.
