Procedure
To use Open From Vault:
1.
Open the File menu and choose Open From
Vault.
2. If you’re not logged in to a provider, you’re
asked to log in via the
Vault Log In dialog
.Fill
out t he form and then click OK.
3. Use the Open File From Vault dialog to browse
thevaultandchooseaMAXfiletoopen.
4. At this point, one of two things happens:
•Ifthefileisavailableforcheckout,adialog
opens letting you know that the file is under
version control and asking you if you want to
check it out before making edits. Click Yes.
If another user has the file checked out, a
dialog opens notifying you of this and telling
youthatyouwontbeabletosaveedits.Click
OK to open the file in read-only mode. If
you attempt to save this file, a dialog appears
notifying you that the scene file is read-only
and w i ll not be over written.
5. If you attempt to open a different file or use
the New or Reset command while the file is
checked out, a dialog appears asking if you want
to check the files back in. Enter a comment, if
appropriate, and then click OK to check the file
in.
Alternatively,ifyoujustwanttocreateanew
version on the prov ider, turn on Keep Checked
Out and then click OK. A new version will be
created, but the file will still be checked out to
you.

Note: If you haven’t set a working folder, the
followingdialogappearswhenyouattemptto
open a file from the vault:
After you click OK, the Browse For Folder dialog
opens, which you can use to specify a working
folder.
Open R ecent
File menu > O p en Recent
Open recent displays a list of recently opened and
saved files. The list is s or ted in chronological
order,withthemostrecentfilesatthetop.
Procedure
To change the number of files displayed in the Open
Recent list:
1.
Choose Customize > Preferences > Files tab >
File Handling.
2. SetavalueforRecentFilesInFileMenu.The
upper limit is 50.
Save
File menu > Save
Keyboard > CT RL+S
Saveupdatesthecurrentscenebyoverwritingthe
last save of the scene. If no scene was previously
saved, this command works like
Save As (page
