Wind On—
[Animatable] Defines whether the wind
forces are applied or not.
Wind Speed—[Animatable] The strength of the
wind force. The direction is specified by the icon’s
orientation, which is also animatable.
Per t ur b S peed—When on, the strength of the wind
varies over time, using the following parameters.
•
Variance—The maximum amount of change in
the speed.
•
Time Scale—How quickly speed change occurs,
w ith small values producing slow changes, and
large values producing rapid changes.
R ipple—[Animatable] When on, the wind
directionbecomesafunctionofspaceandtime,
allowing you to add rippling effects to cloth
objects affected by the wind. This effect can occur
in the Left/Right, Up/D own, or Back/Forward
directions, where Forward is the wind direction
andUpistheup-axisofthewindicon.
•
Magnitude—The directional v ariance for the
ripples.
•
Fr eque n cy—Theregularityofrippleformation.
•
Per tu rb Ti me—When in, the spatial
perturbation is itself pertu rbed over time,
meaning that the ripples move back and
forth. The P erturb Time feature has its own
Magnitude and Frequency parameters. When
off, the rippling cloth should ev entually come
to rest, unless Perturb Speed is on.
Use R ange—[Animatable] When on, the wind
effect has the specified r ange of action, starting
fromtheicon.Therangelimitisdisplayedinthe
viewport, as depicted in t he following illustration.
• Fall Off—Theextenttowhichthewindeffect
falls off towards its range limit. You can
choose from None, Inv (strength decreases
proportionally to distance), and Inv Sq
(strength decreases propor tionally to the
square of the distance).
Enable Sheltering—[A n imatable] When on, objects
can be sheltered from the w ind by other objects.
Applies To—These check boxes allow you to specify
the ty pes of objects that are affected by the w ind.
You can choose from Rigid Bodies, Cloth, S oft
Bodies, and Ropes.
Disabled—Removes the wind from the simulation.

Reset Default Values—Resets the default property
values for this Wind helper.
