Effects by Object—
Only effects assig ned to specific
objects w ith the Edit Object dialog > Assign Object
Effects button are considered in the calculation.
Global Effects—Only effects included in the Assig n
Global Effects dialog (accessed by clicking the
button of the same name) are included in the
calculation.
Assign Gl obal Effects—Displays the Assign Global
Effects dialog.
Select effects (space warps) in the list on the left
and use the > button to move them to the list on
the right. Effects thus chosen affect all objects in
the simulation except unyielding ones.
The Assign Global Effects dialog functions
similarly to the Edit Object List dialog (page
2–700).
Collisions group
Specifies which collisions are included in the
dynamics ca lculation.
Collisions by Object—Collisions assigned to
specific objects through the Edit Object dialog >
Assign Object Collisions button are included in
the calculation.
Global Collisions—Collisions assigned in the Assign
Global Collisions dialog (accessed by clicking
the button of the same name) are included in the
calculation.
Assign G lobal Collisi ons—Displays the Assign
Global Collisions dialog.
Select the objects in the list on the left and use the
>buttontomovethemtothelistontheright.All
objects thus chosen collide with each other i n the
simulation.
The Assign Global Collisions dialog functions
similarly to the Edit Ob ject List dialog (page 2–700).
Solve group
Update Dis play w/ S olv e—Displays each frame of
thesolutioninthewireframeviewportsduring
the calculations. This slows down the calculation
process.
Solve—Calculates the dy namics solution,
generating keys over the range of frames specified
in the Timing area. A progress bar appears in
the st atus/prompt line. Press ESC to cancel the
calculation.
Note: You cannot undo the generation of a
dynamics simulation solution. If there’s a chance
you might want to restore the scene to its state
prior to the solution, either save (page 3–390) the
scene or use Hold (page 1–95) before solving it.
Timing and Simulation rollout
Lets you specify the range included in the
calculation, how IK is included in the simulation,
and what t he air density is for t he simulation.
