From the Motion Mixer menu, choose Bipeds
>ComputeMixdown.
If Prompt for options at each Mixdown is
turned on in the M ixer Preferences dialog, you
will be prompted for mixdown options. Click
OK to start the mixdown.
AprogressbaratthebottomoftheMixershows
the progress of the mixdown process. After a
few moments, a new track ca lled Mixdown is
created as the last track in the biped’s mix.
You can tur n the track on and off by clicking
the track. When the tr ack is s olid , the Mixdown
track is on (act ive), and the biped performs
the animation in the m ixdown. When the
track appears with hatchmarks, the t rack is
off (inac tive ), and the biped performs the
animationintherawmix.
3. Click the Mixdown track to make it active.
4. Scrub the time slider or play the animation to
check the transitions. If they need correction,
turn off the Mixdown track, correct the
transitions, and compute the Mixdow n again.
Repeat until the transitions are correct.
5. With the Mixdown track act ive, choose Bipeds
menu > C opy Mixdown to Biped.
6. Turn off Mixer Mode if it is on.

Save File on the Biped rollout.
To save Motion Mixer data to a MIX file:
A MIX file saves the current state of the Motion
Mixer data for a selected biped, including all clips,
transitions, tr ims, scaling and time war p s. It is not
necessary to collapse clips before saving a MIX file.
1. Select the biped in the Motion Mixer by clicking
thebipednameattheupperleftofthetrackset.
2. FromtheMotionMixermenu,chooseBipeds
menu>SaveMixFile.Enterafilenameforthe
.mix file, and click Save.
Using the R eser voir
The Reservoir ser ves as a storage facility for motion
clips (page 3–975) (BIP and XAF files) t hat you
use with the Motion Mixer. You can load clips
directly into the Reser voir, and al l clips that you
load directly in the Motion Mixer also show up in
the Reservoir.
For each motion file used in the Motion Mixer,
the Reservoir list shows the s ource (disk path and
name of the file), and, under the source, shows
the name of each clip or set of clips derived from
that file.
The Motion Mixer can apply multiple adaptations
(page 3–905) (occurrences of the clip for
different-sized bipeds) to different bipeds. In the
Reservoir, the various clip adaptations are listed
under t he clip name.
