A ccessing the Mixer also turns on
Mixermodeforthebiped.Mixermodemust
be on for the biped in order to see the mixed
motion on the biped.
To display the Motion Mixer in a viewport:
1.
Activate the viewport in which you want to
display the Motion Mixer.
2. Right-click the viewp ort lab el, and choose
Views > Extended > Motion Mixer from the
pop-up menu.
Note: When the Motion Mixer is displayed
in a viewport, its menu bar is not accessible.
However, you can access each menu by
right-clicking the corresponding element in
the Mixer.
To remove the Motion Mixer fr om a v iewport:
• Right-click a blank area of the Motion Mixer
toolbar, and choose another view from the
select ions under Views on the pop-up menu.
Adding Tra cks to the Mi xer
IntheMotionMixer,youbeginthemixingprocess
by opening the Mixer, then adding objec ts to mix,
and then loading motion clips to clip tracks (page
3–1023). One clip track is created automatically if
a biped is selected while you open the Mixer, but
you’ll probably need more to hold all the motions
you want to use with your mixed objects.
WhenyouopentheMixerwhileabipedisselected,
a trackgroup (page 3–1024), a clip track, and a
balance track (page 3–914) are assig ned to that
biped. If a non-biped object is selected, the Mixer
opens empty.

Adding a nd M erging Non-Biped Object
to a Mi x
When you add a non-biped object to a mix,
itskeyablecontrollersarereplacedbymixer
controllers, which store the object’s original
animation as well as the Mixer animation.
If you merge a non-biped object containing Mixer
controllers into a new scene, it comes in with its
mix name preserved f rom the orig inal file, but
without any mixed animation.
Typ e s o f Cl ip Tracks
There are two types of t racks to w hich you can add
clips:
Layer—A track for a series of motions that do
not need tra nsitions between them. By default, a
Layer track is created for a biped w hen you open
the Mixer.

Tra nsi tion—A tall track with room for two rows
of clips. You can put one motion file on the top
