ScaleValuesisusedtoproportionallyincreaseor
decrease the vertical distance between selected
keys on the function curves in Curve Editor. It uses
the Scale Or igin Line (page 2–506) as a movable
reference point for the scale operation. Practically
speaking, scaling v alues always creates spatial
adjustments, rather than temporal. To scale in
time, use Scale Time (page 2–570) instead.
Note: Scale Values is not available in Dope Sheet
mode.
Procedure
To scale key values:
1.
Select an object in the viewp ort, then right-click
and choose Curve Editor.
2. Highlight one or more tracks, if necessary, and
then highlight the keys you want to scale.
3. On the Curve Ed itor toolbar, click Scale

the 0 location on the vertical scale.
4. Drag the Scale Values Origin line to where you
want to scale v alues from or to.
5. Draganyhighlightedkeyverticallytoscaleall
of them.
Tip: If you use Lock Selection (page 2–555) after
highlighting the keys, you can drag anywhere
in the Key window to create the scale operation.

When Add Keys is active, you can click anywhere
onafunctioncurvetoaddakeyatthatlocation
on the curve. Add Keys stays active until you click
another mo de.
If the curve is part of a multicurve controller,
ver tices are added to each curve at the time
location where you clicked. For example, adding
a key to the red X curve of a TCB Position t rack
simultaneously adds keys to the green Y curve and
the blue Z curve.
Tip: You can move an existing key whi le in Add
Keys mode simply by dragging it.
Adding K eys to a Mul ticurve Controller
The val ue of each key is set by one of the following
conditions:
Keys added between keys receive the
interpolatedvalueshownbythefunctioncurve
at that location.
Keys added before the fi rst or after the last
key on the curve receive the same v alue as the
nearest key.
You can change a key value and/or time while
adding it by dragging after clicking the curve.
Procedure
To add keys to a function curve:
1.
In the Hierarchy list, high light a track.
2. On the Track View toolbar, click Add
Keys.
3. Clickthefunctioncurve(CurveEditor)where
you want to add the key .
