Insert T ime button
Use Insert Time to interpose time into hi ghlighted
tracks. Inserting time adds time at a selected point
in your animation, making existing keys slide out
of the way.
Procedure
To insert time into tra ck s
1.
In Dope Sheet mode, high lig ht one or more
item labels in the Controller windo w to specify
tracks for time editing.
2. OntheDopeSheettoolbar,clickthe
Insert T ime button.
3. Drag in the Key window to insert time into the
tracks.
Tip: To insert time globally, highlight the World
track, tur n on the Modify Child Keys button,
then insert time into the World tr ack.
Scale Time
Track View > Dope Sheet > Time: Dope Sheet toolbar >
Scale Time button
ScaleTimescalesablockoftime. Youcanscale
down to fit into less time, or expand it to fi ll more
time. Scale Time do esn’t use th e Track View time
slider as the scale origin reference; it always scales
from the first frame of the key selection.
Procedure
To scale time:
1.
IntheDopeSheetEditor,ontheTime:
Dope Sheet toolbar, click Scale Time.
2. In the controller window, click item labels to
highlight tracks for ti
me editing.
3. Drag out a time block in t
he Key window, or
use an exist ing block.
4. Moveyourcursorovertheactivetimeblockin
the Key window. The cursor changes to show
youwhenyoucanscale
.
5. Do one of the follow ing
:
• Drag to the right withi
ntheselectionto
expandtimefromtheleftedgeofthe
selection. All keys to the right of the
selection slide rig
ht as the selection expands.
•Dragtotheleftwith
in the selection to reduce
time towards the left edge of the selection.
All keys to the right of the selection slide left
as the selection sh
rinks.
•Dragpastthelefte
dge of the selection to
reversetimeandexpanditwithanegative
scale factor. Keys inside the selection, and
keys to the right o
ftheselection,canoverlap
keys to the left of the selection.
