Weigh tSets the effects of the high lighted Layer
controller

Default=off.
Pose to Pose—Enables blending among controllers
in the list. Available only when you assig n a Layer
controller to a rotation track. Default=off.

information on this option.
B l end Eu ler A s Qua t When on, exposes the
rotation axis order for blending the Euler
controllers, which can prove useful for controlling
gimbal (page 1–443). Available only when you
assign a Layer controller to a rotation track.
Default=off.
X/Y/Z Order—Sets the order in which the system
calculates each rotat ion axis. Available only when
Blend Euler As Quat is on.
Disable—RemovestheLayercontrollerfromthe
select object and rever ts the animation keys on the
Base Layer to the original cont roller.
Note: Youhavetodeleteorcollapse(availableon
the Animation Layers (page 2–326) toolbar) all
layers above the Base Layer before you can disable
it.
Animation Layers
Right-click unused area of any toolbar. > Animation
Layers
Animation menu > Animation Layers
Animation layers let you combine multiple
animation tracks on the same object. You c an use
layers to store your animation experiments as you
try them out, turning them on or off to your liking.
To enable, add, and control layers, use commands
from the Animation Layers toolbar.
Using animation layers is comparable to using
both the List Cont roller (page 2–342) and biped
layer system (page 2–974), while it is more flexible
and simpler for the animators to use.
Enabling Animation Layers
When you enable animation layers for a selected
objectbyturningthemonintheEnableAnim
Layers dialog, 3ds Max assigns a Layer contr oller
(page 2–325) to the animation tracks.
When 3ds Max adds a Layer controller, it copies
the or i ginal controller into its first layer (called
